Adam Francesconi

House Gallery . Rhythm Gallery . Slacker.com

Since 1999 Adam has been playing his brand of soulful house in Detroit. He taught himself to play by watching some of his favorite DJ’s… Terrence Parker, Al Ester, and Jerry the Cat. After taking in the styles and sounds of these hometown hero’s Adam found his own sound which incorporates soul, latin, disco, and jazz into one DJ set.

Adam is now in his fourth year of exclusively producing the Rhythm Gallery on CJAM 91.5 fm Windsor/Detroit (Wednesday nights 10:30Midnight). The program was started in 1992 by Jerry The Cat and after him handled by DJ Minx, Dave Scott and Tom Desmond. Adam’s current co-host is Mathew Boynton. Twice the program has won best electronic show on CJAM. Adam is always looking to promote the artistic community by playing local music and talking about events on the program.

Adam’s latest project is programming the House music station for a new online radio station called Slacker.com. It has the feel of Pandora but with the purchase of a portable device you can take your favorite stations with you.

In Late 2007 Dj’s Adam Francesconi and Jay Ramsey started House Gallery as a way of playing various forms of House Music and showcasing Detroit’s best DJ’s. For just over a year Adam and Jay have been playing soulful, funky, jackin’ house along with their own re-edits Saturdays at Proof Lounge in Detroit.  Not only will you hear deep house sets but impromptu live sets from Diamondancer can be heard at House Gallery events.

Jay Ramsey

House Gallery

Jay Ramsey has been musically influenced starting as a kid playing horns of all types but specializing in Sax.  Jazz was his music of choice being taught by one of the best, a man who played with Al Hirt and is now currently a music teacher for the University of Michigan.

Jay became involved with House music 5 years ago as a way to escape the harsh reality’s of the negative things happening in his life.  Being new to the scene he was influenced by the deep west cost style of Miguel Migs, Blue Six, Joshua Heath, DJ MFR and also being able to watch and play along side MAJOR influences like Terrance Parker, Delano Smith, Jerry the Cat, Norm Tally, Mike Huckaby and others helped him to see what the REAL meaning of House music was and how it could release you.  He will tell you to this day whole heartedly the House music has saved his life, and mean it.

Jay created a House music station on Pandora called “House Music for the Soul: Baghdad Cafe” and over the course of 6 years molded it into  one HOT House station .  You can stream it from http://www.pandora.com/?sc=sh165697145348036013.

In 2007 Jay and Adam Francesconi teamed up to create House Gallery as a way of playing various forms of House Music and showcasing Detroit’s best DJ’s. For just over a year Adam and Jay have been playing soulful, funky, jackin’ house along with their own re-edits Saturdays at Proof Lounge in Detroit.  Not only will you hear deep house sets but impromptu live sets from Diamondancer can be heard at House Gallery events on occasion.

J.Garcia

House Gallery . Science Projex

Garcia began mixing music on a belt drive gemini turntable, a cd walkman, a casette player and a cheep-ass Radio Shack mixer back in 1994. Although he didn’t really have the tools, he knew Dj’ing was for him. He played any house party when given the chance. Hip Hop was his genre of choice back then. It was what they listened to. On the weekends, going to the club was fun, but he couldn’t find the underground sound and culture he was searching for.

In 1998 he was finally blessed with the only turntable ment to Dj upon, the 1200! It was also the year he got his first piece of production gear. a Roland Mc-303. Coincidentally, 1998 was the year he discovered what House and Techno music really was. He would go to the legendary Motor Lounge and warehouse parties every week, sometimes multiple times a week just to catch the acts coming to town. Dj’s and producers that influenced him included Richie Hawtin, Derrick May, Terrence Parker, Jeff Mills, Alan Oldham, Magda, Fred Giannelli, Swayzak, Twonz, Stacy Pullen, Mike Huckaby, Rob Hood, Dj Sneak, Johnny Fiasco, Lego…

Since then, he’s held a couple of residencies in the suburbs of Detroit. Most notably, Tonic Nightclub in Pontiac, Mi. during the summer of 01. In 2006 he began promoting and doing sound for Proof Lounge in Detroit. Since the owners prefered House music, he booked Terrence Parker as the Saturday night weekly Dj. On Friday nights he booked just about every House Dj in the city. House music quickly became his preference. In early 07 he began his Friday night Dj residency there with Josh Surma. Their sets ranged from Deep House and Jackin Chicago House to Tech House and Minimal depending on the crowd. Around that time (after TP had moved to Las Vegas) the House Gallery had started up and occupied the Saturday night slot with Garcia running the sound. Both held their residencies until Proof closed their doors in December of 09.

Soon after Proof closing, House Gallery officially welcomed Garcia into the crew and planning began for HG to spread their wings.
